6 Kyoto Students Arrested Over Gang-rape

moe-10248-sample

Here’s a whole bunch of drunk females because I don’t have a better picture.

Six male students from the Kyoto University of Education were arrested under the suspicion of gang-raping a 19-year-old woman at a pub in the city of Kyoto. According to the Kyoto police, it is said that Shota Isotani, 22, Satoshi Takeda, 25, and four other students raped the female university student on the evening of Feburary 25 in a vacant room in a Japanese-style pub in Kyoto.

It is believed that the female was drunk at that time, but aside from Takeda, the rest have reportedly said that it was actually a consenusal sexual activity. It is also said that 6 males were members of sport teams. While it has happened sometime ago, the female had only reported the case to the authorities at 4th April.

This is not the first time that this has happened too. The latest incident seems to follow a a series of similar gang-rape cases involving members of sports teams and social clubs at universities and the use of alcohol. Even with tougher laws with regards to sex crimes, such incidents continue to occur with little regard.

While I feel pity for the girl, it’s actually rather weird that she only reported the case 1 month after the incident took place, and the very fact that all but one said that it was consented…

A little sidetracking, it would seem this is one of the reason why people often blame such games for such acts, although it is reportedly shown that these games are usually played by people who does not go on such sprees.
