A Street Fighter 4 Sequel Soon?

street_fighter_ii_1_cover_by_udoncrew

Street Fighter has just barely turned one years old and there has been talks about a sequel being in the works. According to Andriasang, it is probable that a SF4 sequel is in the works, as in the previous announcement done by Capcom blogstress queen, Natsuki Shiozawa had revealed something very strange, since she mentioned a little bit about a sequel…

During a Q&A session with her, she revealed some pretty interesting bits about the direction SF4 is going to. When asked if there would be a Nintendo Wii version of SF4, she simply replied with:

“At present, I don’t think there are plans for that… probably.”

See that “probably” there? Looks like some sort of indicator to me. Further on, she mentioned this too:

The most intriguing comment comes before the questions, though. As a warning message, Shiozawa writes “I won’t be talking about sequels!” But just below that, she adds “I will talk about it next week… but I forbid you from getting too excited.”

So, a sequel that might exist on the Nintendo Wii? Maybe.

However, yet another post came up, and according to Andriasang, it seems that there is a mention of the sequel. You can check out the full blog post on Capcom’s website here. Please do note that the whole post is in Japanese.

While there’s a mention, there wasn’t much information, so we can only speculate thus far. However, with TGS around the corner, there’s no telling what would happen down there. Maybe Capcom’s gonna do an announcement regarding this?

I wouldn’t be all that surprised if there was a SF4 squeal in the works, I mean in my opinion Blaz Blue just blew SF4 out of the water when it came out. And I was huge about SF4 when it came out, but I just had a problem with the controls, they didn’t feel right, and they did this thing where they made the shoryuken motion easier to do and it would come up all the time when trying to throw a fireball for me. I think there is some balancing issues that need to be addressed as well.

The true ending of Blazblue shows some promises for a sequel too. Too bad it seems that KoF has been blown all the way back into the… uhh… darkest part of fighting games…
