On the 22th and 23th of November, a majority of Singapore’s anime/manga loving population has gathered one single location for one single event that will unite them all.

And that one single location happens to be AFA08!

Held in Suntec City, the convention spans across 2 halls, and boasts an impressive 1,312,315,354 amount of people attending it!

Okay, actually, the convention is not as big as I’ve expected, but it was still rather big for a first time event in Singapore.

Setting the issue of the convention size in one little corner, the amount of people attending the event was indeed awesome. Queues started as early as 8am, and average queue time for the tickets was about 1-1.5hrs. So yeah, you get the idea of how much people there are.

My friends and I had forgotten to take pictures on the first day… but we took plenty on the second day! Props goes to IFreedom for taking the pictures.

For the whole of the event, the photo taking was more focused on the environment itself, so if you guys are hoping for some cosplaying photos, I’m sorry to disappoint you guys. While the cosplaying was great, we often found ourselves busy with buying stuff cut off from the cosplayers, as they are all the way at the front.

The only time where we get to see the cosplayers was during the Cosplay Mania event, although we gave up halfway because of the lack of space we’ve got… and the crappy camera we’ve got. Yeah, it’s a promise that we’ll bring a SLR camera for the next event. Definitely.

Also, as a heads up, there was a no photography or shooting rule during the May’n Concert… so no pictures on that. Sorry guys.

The convention has been enjoyable to say the least. At least I went back happy, I found some of the figurines that I’ve always wanted! Hoorah!

At the end of the live concert (and an amazing feat done by a certain someone from SGAB), May’n had expressed her delight at the amount of people turning up at concert, and thanks Singapore for the support that it has given her. I’m sure every single Macross Frontier fan would be delighted to hear this.

みんな口ずさんでくれたり、もってけーしてくれたり(´;ω;`)シンガポール大好き。初めての海外ライブがこーんな大成功できるなんて!!

シンガポール、たっくさん思い出できたけど、ライブが本っっ当に最高の思い出。やっぱり音楽に国境はないよっ!!!!
