Look pretty good, yes?
AH-Software announced the release of three Vocaloids based on the Vocaloid 2 Engine, and they are for sale on 4th December 2009. Of course, you can preorder now if you want.
Recent events in Yamaha and Crypton had left me confused, but it seems like most questions can be answered in this post. Read more inside!
Due to misinformation, I mistook [Project If...] for Miki, which I apologize now. Whole heartedly.
Apparently, Vocaloid SF-A2 Miki is a joint collaboration from Yamaha and AH-Software, and has nothing to do with Crypton and their new [Project If...]
Now then, let’s move on to AH-Software’s new Vocaloids! First up, we have Miki!

Not much is known about Miki other than her recommended tempos and vocal range.
Recommended Tempos : 70 – 170 BPM
Recommended Vocal Range : E2 – G4 (As with personal experience with Megpoid and Miku, make it G5 or G6)
Well…I have no idea who drew Miki, and neither did the artist mention her possible height and age. I guess it is up to our own imagination then~!
But I do like Miki’s official art, as it gives off a robotic feeling to it, pretty much like Crypton’s Vocaloid 2 Series.
Oh, and I don’t really like how she sound…
Well, for the other two vocaloid…I really have no idea what to say about them. They just…Don’t fit in with the rest of the vocaloids =/ Also, these two vocaloids seems to be a parody of a certain anime…But whatever, let’s have Utaai Yuki next, shall we?
Note that the name might be different from the names they are known by on other websites as I am doing direct translation.

This particular Vocaloid sounded a little too deep for an elementary school student. But if you were to compare cute voices, she definitely lose out to that we have heard before in [Project If...] Video by Crypton.
According to AH-Software’s description,
Utaai Yuki (歌愛ユキ) is a 9 years old Vocaloid that is designed to sound exactly like a elementary school kid.
If you can read katakana, do help yourself with her data, as I don’t study moonspeak >_>;
Recommended Tempos : 50 – 150 BPM
Recommended Vocal Range : F2- C4
Also, from her description, it says that she is a student of Hyouzan Kiyoteru (氷山キヨテル), which is the name of the next vocaloid.
A loli and a male teacher, sounds pretty familair, yes?
Last but not least, we have Hyouzan Kiyoteru (氷山キヨテル).

A vocaloid designed to look like a school teacher. If you ask me, he sounded like a mix of high pitch Leon and C range Kaito.
Recommended Tempos : 60 – 160 BPM
Recommended Vocal Range : C2 – G3
Personally, I like his character art better than Yuki. Something just irks me about Yuki.
I doubt I would be covering them in the future via videos or songs, as they don’t seem to suit me at all. Hell, they don’t even look like typical Vocaloids in the first place.
In case you want to have a sample of how these vocaloids sound like, you can visit AH-Software for a sample. All of these Vocaloid cost about 15750 yen each, and you can preorder now if you’re interested.

AH-Software also have an interesting product called Voiceroid released on the same day as the Vocaloids. The Voiceroid is very similar to the Vocaloid just that they are quite user-friendly. The software, however, is unable to sync properly with other musical software unless you extract their speech as a WAV extension file.
The Voiceroid series is actually an improvement of CrazyTalk , which is one of AH-Software product. Currently, there are two Voiceroid, namely Tsukuyomi Ai and Tsukuyomi Shouta

Shouta is on the left, and Ai on the right.
And here’s a video for you to enjoy~
Doesn’t sound good compared to Vocaloid, does it? But it has the potential, so only time will tell.
