Being a police is tough work, regardless of where you are. However, for Japan, it seems that they have the toughest work around for them. Their police force handles and experiences a hell load of thing, ranging from people ramming into police stations, people wanting to get arrested themselves, having more than 80 prank calls in a day and even cases where lonely people resorts to stealing other items to cure their bordeom!
Not only that, they have to deal with drunk people stealing their cars too.
A 30 years old man has been arrested on Thursday morning. Reason? He had drove away a police car that was parked at a side while the policemen were conducting random breath checks.
Apparently, this guy, Yasuki Mori, an unemployed resident of Sapporo was drunk on the particular day and had drove off a police car at about 4.30am. The police car’s engines were operating because they had to power up a sign to inform drivers that they are conducting random breath checks.
After Mori had driven off with the car, another police car quickly gave chase. After a short 5 minutes, the stolen car was stopped about 1 kilometers away from the scene. Mori was promptly arrested for theft and is also charged of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The reason why he stole the car? Because he didn’t felt like walking home, which is 7 kilometers away. That’s why stealing a police car would send him home quickly.
Yeah, policemen in Japan really have it tough. Really tough.
