BioShock 2 Multiplayer Details Revealed

Many people have asked, “Can we have Multiplayer Mode for BioShock?“. Of course you can! Take-Two, with 2k Marin have listened to everyone who wanted a multiplayer mode and had plans to introduce it in BioShock 2!

Don’t ask me how the multiplayer is like, since I’ve got no idea how the multiplayer will turn out. However, here are the details that was recently released for everyone to see.

The multiplayer provide a rich prequel experience for the first Bioshock fiction. Set just a little before and during the fall of Rapture, the player assumes the role of a Plasmid test subject (cool!) for Sinclair Solutions, which players have probably seen throughout the first game.

Players will be able to combine Plasmids and Tonic usage to make themselves unique, and to combat whatever they might encounter.

The multiplayer will feature an experience point system, in which players could unlock more plasmids and tonics to customize their own playing style. Aside from the customization system, it seems that one of the feature is learning how the Rapture citizens were really are, since you’re one of them after all. However, I’ve got no idea how this will work out, so… yeah.

Another interesting addition about the multiplayer is that you can get to see the environments of pre-fall Rapture. Remember how run-down Rapture was when we first arrived in the first game? With the multiplayer being set before the fall of Rapture, we can probably see all sorts of environments that are actually still standing.

The multiplayer aspect of BioShock 2 is being handled by Digital Extremes, who had recently worked on Dark Sector.

As for me… I don’t really think Multiplayer will be such a nice option for such a single-player orientated game. But then, we wouldn’t know how the multiplayer will turn out until the game is out. But seriously, it’s a really weird idea.
