BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Console Ver. To Get New Character

Page introducing Mu-12.

Apparently the Famitsu’s accidental leak was somewhat true, as new details for the upcoming console version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift has surfaced. In the lengthy 4 page magazine that covers several new details for Continuum Shift (although majority of the player would know the changes already), a special character will make an appearance in the line up of playable characters.

Like when Calamity Trigger (featured Hakumen and v13) was first released on the console, the new character called Mu-12 will be available for playing on the console version. It’s not known if Mu-12 will be available on the arcades when Continuum Shift is released for the console version. For those who doesn’t know who Mu-12 is, she is actually the “awaken” version of Noel Vermillion. Those who had played the arcade versions would probably know how did Mu-12 came about.

Other than a new character, Continuum Shift will feature everything the arcade has to offer, plus several well-known features which exists exclusively for the console. Modes such as challenges, story mode, a fully voiced tutorial level and even the Legion mode which exists on the PSP will be making an appearance on the console version. Below is a full list of the features available:

Tutorial
Learn everything from the basics of fighting games through BlazBlue-specific systems. This mode features full voice.
Arcade
Enjoy the story from the arcade version.
Versus
Face off against a friend or the CPU.
Score Attack
Fifteen consecutive rounds of combat to achieve as high a score as possible.
Training

Challenge

Legion

Story
Enjoy combat and character-specific stories. The game includes over 28 scenarios.
Gallery
A gallery for event movies, BGM, and voices.
Replay Theater
Manage and view network battle replay data.
Network
Enjoy online combat. Compatible with rankings and replay viewing. The game’s producer mentioned in a short commentary blurb that the game’s network component will be beefed up and made more user friendly.

As of now, the console version is about 60% completed, and will be released this Summer for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. One little interesting is bit is how Arc System Works would held the Mu-12 and Noel Vermillion appearances. It’s rather impossible for both of them to appear at the same thing, because if Mu-12 exists, Noel should not exist!

Then again, I just might be thinking too much into this…
