The official website for the upcoming animation film, Bungaku Shoujo, has recently updated itself with a second trailer. The trailer, lasting about 113 seconds long in total gives us a summary of the film, as well as introduction to several characters, including the supporting characters in the story.
Bungaku Shoujo, or translated as “Literacy Girl” is a mysterious school comedy which revolves around the two characters; a senior high school girl called Tōko Amano who calls herself the “literacy girl” and a boy named Konoha Inoue, a second year high school student who happens to be the club subordinate of Amano.
While Amano might look at a normal girl on the outside, she is really a supernatural creature (yōkai) who devours stories by tearing pages of books to munch on them. Inoue, on the other hand will write stories daily for Amano to devour on and has a secretive past: he once wrote an award winning novel before, but he had wrote under the pen-name of Miu Inoue, so people would thought that the author is really a mysterious 14-year-old bishōjo novelist. Following the novel’s success, the pressure from novel’s fame and its movie and television drama plans turned Inoue in an introverted recluse.
A previous 60-second trailer was released sometime last year, and you can still find the first trailer in this link. If you’re interested in viewing the second trailer, you can head over to the official site and view it from there. A manga adaptation is also currently in the works.
