Clannad ~After Story~ — Episode 15!

snapshot20090123195504

Clannad After Story continues with episode 15, and I will say this before I continue with anything; this episode is totally serious. That’s right, you can expect something different from Clannad from here onwards.

If you’ve watched the Clannad Movie that was animated several years ago, there are some elements of After Story in the show. Episode 15 can be considered mild on the whole Clannad series, and I expect that there will be more thought provoking scenes, touching scenes in the later of the series.

Throughout the episode, the atmosphere is definitely a heavy and moody one, as things starts to have great changes. Tomoya and Nagisa is going to have an new addition to the family – a baby.

Generally, episode 15 has a somber feeling to it. A recollection of the past of how Nagisa and Tomoya got together with the Furukawa family starts off the episode. Nagisa’s baby is stated to be only 2 months away, and the Tomoya starts thinking about if he will share the same responsibilities as the dad he had shunned off.

In the course of the episode, Tomoya will find out the responsbilities that he will have to take, as well as the possible scenarios he will have to face, and frankly speaking, I feel that it will happen to any of us at that stage of our life.

As usual, I’ll leave some screencaps for your viewing pleasure:

Certainly, you wouldn’t compare Tomoya with the great Akio-sama?

<yaoi>”Yes, it’s only two months away.”</yaoi>

<yaoi>”Tomoya, will you really give birth to my ki-”</yaoi>

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

New found responsiblity for Tomoya.

The power of gossiping women is not to be underestimated.

I truly admire how close these two are together…

A flashback to the past…

snapshot20090123202025

Akio is a good father. I’m sure of that.

snapshot20090123202249

A name represents someone. It is vital for a meaningful name.

And this marks the start of a new life, a new addition and a new chapter.

This episode manages to convey the small little things that we treasure in life, as well as reminding how fragile life can get. And indeed, this episode is brings about a mixture of feelings, a little bit of sadness, a bit of hope, happiness for the couple.

And the stage is set for one of the greatest anime for the season.

This series really hits me hard, because I’m a father myself with a young son. I’m already bracing for impact, every episode I watch I expect the emotions to flow in me.
