I wonder if the other two will get jealous…
Remember the time where people had commented that their “lives were over” when K-ON’s anime had reached the end? Well, there’s a reason to it, as the newest K-ON! Album is the first and only anime character album thus far to ever top the Oricon Weekly Charts.
The album, “Hōkago Teatime,” a two-CD mini-album “performed” by the characters from K-ON! had apparently reached the first place in Oricon’s Weekly Charts. Selling a total of 67,000 since debut, the album is the first and only anime album to ever reached the #1 position.
K-ON! has about 6 albums released thus far, 2 related to the OP and ED, 2 character albums (although more are to be on it’s way) and the last 2 being the insert albums. All of these albums have generally received good sales volume, surpassing Lucky Star in terms of sales amount in the first week.
With such an incredible sales volume, I’m sure there would be more of these “hitting the top” cases happening in the future when more K-ON! albums gets released. Until then, you guys (or those people) would have to get your fix of K-ON! by listening to these albums!
Either way, congratulations K-ON!
