Having the chance to read news in manga form is great idea and all, but if it’s only in Japanese, then it wouldn’t be much of a interest to those who are out of Japan, don’t you think?

Seems like the company which had started the “News via Manga” service in Japan had thought of this, as they had recently told the Shinagawa Keizai Shimbun that they are thinking of extending their “Manga News” service to other countries in 3 different languages; English, Korean and French.

The company works like this: Usually, the company can draft up about two and a half articles per day. These articles will then be given the a team of 2 mangaka with about 40-50 assistant who will then start to illustrate the mangas. Each article will take about six hours to be translated into a manga form.

Due to the fact that the company does not “sell” these manga news articles, the company generates revenue through the advertisements on the news manga site. The company also plans to adapt other company’s press release into manga form as a way to generate revenue.

It is also stated that the foreign language “News via Manga” service could be expected to launch as soon as six months later. The foreign version aims to provide the same kind of news that the local version is offering now, so it’s possible that they will be having the same categories of news in the foreign version too.
