It’s all about the pantsu I tell you!
Even though Gonzo has promised a second season of Strike Witches, it seems that it will indeed arrive, except Gonzo will not be in the picture this time round.
Recently announced in the 4th issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Nyantype, it is confirmed that the production of second season of Strike Witches will be moved to Studio AIC instead of the Gonzo as it was listed since April. The second season is tentatively named as “Strike Witches 2-ki”.
The first season of Strike Witches was produced by Gonzo and it had been extremely well received by a huge number of people. However, despite the successes and announcement that Gonzo will still be working on the second season, it seems that the project is now moved to AIC instead of Gonzo. AIC had produced some pretty nice works, including this season’s Nyan Koi! The reason for the move was not announced, but majority of the staff from the first season will be making a return for the second series.
Definitely bad news for Gonzo. Strike Witches is probably one of the most received shows and to have it moved to another studio is probably a big blow on them. As many would have known, Gonzo isn’t exactly doing well all these time with all those ugh animes that is churning out from them. The last good one is probably Saki and a second season is nowhere in sight… yet.
