Dedication Of Fans, Truly Amazing

Starting young is always a good idea.

The dedication of fans is truly a beautiful thing. Especially fans of the Gundam series.

Recently at the Gundam Expo that took place in Thailand, it is revealed that fans had come together to build a life-sized bust of the RX78 Gundam from the series of Mobile Suit Gundam. The life-size bust means the top part of the Gundam, starting from the chest, minus the arms.

Standing at 6 meters in height, the Gundam that these Thai fans built is clearly not as impressive as the 18 meters Gundam that was recently removed from the Shiokaze Park on Tokyo’s artificial Odaiba island. However, there’s one big difference between the two Gundams: the fans made the Gundam bust from scratch, by themselves. This is definitely no small feat, as they don’t exactly have what the professionals have in creating the replica of the RX78 Gundam.

Not only that, the Thai fans might have just a new record in the history books of Gundam. It is mentioned that the Gundam that the fans had built and displayed is the first of it’s kind overseas. The Gundam is made before the Expo had started, so it can be considered as a tribute to the 30th anniversary of Gundam.

Other than the Thais, there are plenty others in Japan that had done the same thing as the Thais had done. A 1/3 scaled 7 meters tall Zeta Gundam which you can find here, and yet another variant of the RX78 Gundam (bust up too) can be found here.

What can I say? The dedication of fans is truly an amazing thing.
