Fans of Haruhi would be delighted to know that Disappearance has not exactly disappeared forever, as the last episode in the re-run of Haruhi has announced that Disappearance will be arriving in the year 2010.
There’s a catch, however.
While it’s true that Disappearance would be arriving at our doorsteps early next year, it would not be adapted into an anime form like what many others would believe it would be. Instead, Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi would be adapted into a movie form, which will be open in Spring 2010.
This is certainly good news for all Haruhi fan, but I think Kyoto Animation is making an extremely big mistake here. The disappearance arc would definitely take more than a mere two or three hours to completely showcase and a movie just wouldn’t cut it at all. Disappearance is probably one of the best arc that Haruhi has and it would be a real pity if it’s cut short by the amount of time a movie is limited to.
