If you’ve played Dragon Quest IX before, you’ll certainly know of this particular bar’s named called Ludia’s bar. More of a companion recruiting centre than an actual bar in the game, many players would find themselves visiting the bar regularly to change or get more party members.

And it looks like Square Enix is bringing Ludia’s bar into our world, so as to allow us to… recruit party members?

This real-life Ludia’s bar is a joint project by Pasela karaoke bar and Square Enix. Like the Monster Hunter sieres, Pasela had worked with Capcom to set up several Monster Hunter-themed bars all around Japan. The latest joint project, however, will be centered on the popular game of Dragon Quest IX.

From left to right: Passion Merazoma, Sexy Beam, Hyda Cool.

Merazoma is actually a fire-spell, while Hyda is an ice-spell. Pretty neat reference to the game!

Visitors will be able to treat themselves with a wide variety of items themed from the game, such as a Sexy Beam drink and a Goddess’s Fruit food item. The bar is slated to be opened at Roppongi starting 28th January. One place that Dragon Quest fans who visits Japan can’t miss!
