It seems like Vocaloid is becoming more and more common in Japan, and one day, the general public will be under the flag of Hatsunismmore familiar with Vocaloids. In what way you ask? Why, through a new express train, of course!

Green theme train with a purple stripe…Mmhmm…

The E5 series train are bullet trains capable of achieving 320km/hr, which is  approximately 200mph. It’s first test run started in early April 2009, with the same colour theme. However, at that time, the train remains unnamed.

Now, set to operate near the end of December 2010, with it’s official operations to be recorded in 2011, East Japan Railway had set up poll to name this new train that will replace bullet trains that are older than 11 years in Japan.

And it seems like a vocaloid fan had managed to snuck in the name [初音] (Hatsune) into the poll, with majority of the votes falling under it. As for me, I think it is befitting that the fastest ever bullet train be linked with Vocaloid, as both of them are the cradle of future technology…Well, provided we live long enough to see a new era of technological revolution.

Currently, the name for the E5 is still under pending status. As for when the result would be out, I have no idea. Hopefully, the guys running EJR stick the name [初音] for the E5, as that would be another thing for us to gloat about~!
