Layout of the controller.
You know, Virtual On is an extremely successful game in the arcade. Thus, Microsoft intends to bring this game classic into your home by getting it into your Xbox 360. At a cheap price of $15, you can get to revive the old memories of you spending credits upon credits just to win/beat enemies.
While Virtual On’s gameplay is indeed fun, the thing that defined the game from all the rest of the arcade games out there is actually the Twin Stick Controller. While the rest of arcade games have only 1 joystick (usually all the fighting game and stuffs), Virtual On actually had 2 to boot, annoying you to control your bot in a free manner that little game in the past allowed.
When the game first came out for Dreamcast, they even had their own bundle for the controller. However, for the 360? Nope, it doesn’t come with a controller, because the game is available on Xbox Live Arcade only. But, still hoping for the controller?
No worries! Hori, a game joystick manfacturer has it covered as they introduce a twin stick controller which is… almost 20 times the pricing of the game itself. Yeah, 20 times and people were saying that Virtual On was rather expensive at $15. Of course, not everyone will need the controller to play the game, but the whole thing about Virtual On was the twin stick controller!
Either way, all the Xbox 360 controls are mapped nicely to the whole controller, so it isn’t too much of a loss when you actually buy this controller for your 360. You can probably use this controller with other games, and maybe use it for some of the flight simulation games that are available on the 360. But, asides from that, I don’t really see the point of getting a controller that costs nearly 20 times the game’s price!
