And they say Lightning’s the female version of Cloud!?
It’s official. Like the previous post had stated, FF13 will hit Japanese PS3 this December on the 17th. This is confirmed by the CEO of Square Enix during the Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII Premier Party event in Tokyo’s Odaiba area.
The game will set owners back for a hefty 9,000 yen plus, but most retailers would sell it a little lower just to facilitate the sales volume.
Other than that, it is also announced that Square Enix is aiming for an international release as soon as Spring 2010. Not too far from now, since it has been a tradition that Square Enix’s FF games takes about 6 to 12 months from it’s Japanese counterpart’s release to arrive onto the western shores. This time round, however, they are aiming for a quicker release, and the keyword being international may bright some glimmer of hope for regions that wouldn’t receive these games as fast as the others would.
Spring is extremely vague, we know, but it’s still a confirmation nonetheless. Square Enix promises that there will be more details on the “Spring” as the international release dates comes closer.
The Xbox 360 version, however, had not been widely mention even though FF13 will be arriving on the console. It’s expected that the PS3 will receive both English and Japanese version before the Xbox 360 even receives it’s Japanese version.
