You might be wondering what FF13 has got to do with FF14 at all. I’ve got no idea on how these two games are related, but according to this week’s Jump Magazine, it is revealed that Final Fantasy 13 will have something to do with Final Fantasy 14.
As many would have known now, Final Fantasy 13 is strictly an offline RPG game that will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Final Fantasy 14, on the other hand, is strictly an online RPG game that will be released for the Playstation 3 plus the PC. So the difference is rather big, seeing that both games have completely different settings, as well as players have complete control of their character appearance in FF14.
But according to Jump Magazine, Final Fantasy 13 will be included with a sort of campaign code for Final Fantasy 14. Not much details about what this campaign code is announced, and the details that the magazine gave was extremely vague. Maybe people who had played FF11 could shed some light about these campaign codes, seeing that FF14 is the successor of FF11.
Famitsu is going to be releasing another slew of information of FF13 in it’s next issue, so there’s a possibility of more details about FF14’s campaign code. Until then, you’re probably better off waiting for FF13 instead of thinking about FF14.
Edit: Thanks Kam for the clarification on the Xbox 360 part!
