First Animelo Overseas To Be Held In Shanghai

For all the other people who are out of Japan, there’s really only two options which will allow you to participate in the biggest anime-dedicated music event in Japan: either you go to Japan by yourself, or you can view it live on Nico Videos and later on YouTube.

This year, however, it looks like people in China will have a tad more leeway in viewing or attending Animelo as the event will be holding it’s first overseas concert this November in Shanghai, China!

In addition the the overseas Animelo, it looks like there will be yet another Animelo event which will be held somewhere in between September and October. This event is a tad special as it will only house 2000-3000 people, and all of the participant are limited to females. Makes you wonder if anyone would do something strange just to go into the event!

Animelo will still proceed as per normal in Japan, with the Summer Live (dubbed as “Evolution“) being held on the 28th and 29th of August. While no exact date for the overseas Animelo event is revealed, it is confirmed that it will happen sometime in late November. The overseas event is still called a Summer event, although it’s pretty much Winter soon when Animelo kicks off in Shanghai. You can check out the official Animelo website at this link.

The list of artistes attending the August event is yet to be finalized, but as of now, several popular and upcoming girl groups are confirmed!

The 28th August Partial List includes:

  • Minami Kuribayashi
  • JAM Project
  • fripSide

The 29th August Partial List includes:

  • Yukari Tamura (Rika from Higurashi, anyone?)
  • May’n (Sheryl Nome from Macross F)
  • Nana Mizuki (I don’t need to mention who, right?)
  • Halko Momoi (No idea whose this…)

This might be an indication that Animelo is finally going overseas! Now everyone can hope feverishly that Animelo will arrive in their country next year!
