Big Boss is back for a fifth (or is it the sixth?) installment of the Metal Gear Solid series!
Just a few days ago, working title “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes” was announced at the Metal Gear 25th anniversary party as the upcoming Metal Gear Solid game. The game is allegedly open-world, deviating a little from the usual Metal Gear Solid formula. Running on Kojima Production’s FOX Engine (the one that is used to power Metal Gear Rising previously), the game is set to deliver amazing graphics and lighting to a variety of platform.
An incredibly lengthy trailer was also recently released just a few moments ago, which shows the opening cinematic of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, as well as a little gameplay at the end of the trailer. Based on the trailer, the game takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker where Paz plays a major role in the existence of Big Boss’s Outer Haven.
The game is slated to be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The trailer itself is running off PC.
Kojima himself had mentioned that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is aiming to evoke a feeling of origin from the players. He also mentioned that he won’t call this game “Metal Gear Solid 5”, insisting that it’s a “prologue”. No release date has been announced as of yet.
