“Gaming Is More Dangerous Than Pornography”

Right. We know that gaming is entertainment and can be considered as dangerous to some parents, but did you know that gaming is considered more dangerous than pornography?

I sure did not, until a certain Ron Jeremy told me so.

You’re probably not even familiar with this Ron Jeremy (well, maybe you do), so for people like me who had first heard of his name, he’s a pornography industry pioneer who happens to appear at the CES 2010 that was held in Las Vegas on the 9th of January. Speaking at the 2010 debate panel, Ron said that gaming is actually more dangerous than pornography!

As he was saying, he believes that the violence in games these days are definitely more dangerous than what pornography provides: bouncing bewbies all the other standard stuffs in a porno flick. “We don’t want kids to watch porn,” he said.

However, gaming on the other hand is targeted to all kinds of games, and we’ve seen kids as early as less than ten playing some shooting game! He further enforce his statement by stating studies have found that violent video games are much bigger a negative influence on kids than what pornography does.

Of course, this Ron Jeremy has a point about the number of minors touching video games in comparison to the amount that’s touching pornography, but is gaming truly more dangerous than pornography? I can only wonder.

And school is more dangerous than pornography too. There are more people who committed suicide due to school bullies / school stress than pornography actually harming people.

Well, that’s a load of nonsense. If he wanted to say that pornography can be regarded as an educational material, that would make sense. But claiming that gaming is dangerous and may lead to mental disorder is absolutely senseless.

By this man’s impeccable logic, candy is also more dangerous than pornography. It’s directed at children and can cause serious health problems.

Wisdom from a porn director huh (something feels wrong here). This whole games -> violence argument again… Maybe he’ll preach about how the decline of pirates really does cause global warming next.

However, IMO games ARE more dangerous than porn (it’s just that his logic sucks). Why is that? I don’t know anyone who wrecked their life by watching porn endlessly. There’s plenty of WoW addicts to fit that hole though.

I never knew he was a comedian as well.. but I guess he feels that he’s big enough that other people care what he has to say. Good luck, Ron..

    I got linked, I read, I lol’d.

He does have a point with the interactivity and all, but seriously, if a kid doesn’t want to do something on a video game, he doesn’t. You can’t a kid might not be able to stop watching porn (loss of remote, stupid stuff like that), and there is a lot of weird shit out there.

    2 girls 1 cup, right?
