I love TF2 and I think HAVE Online is just start of blatant ripoffs of good games such as TF2 from Korea, Japan, China and other Asian countries who are trying to make big bucks. What a shame and hope they get sued big time.

" since some people “stole” the ideas of the the original QuakeWorld TF and made it into Team Fortress Classic."

Actually, Valve hired the original QWTF team. All "Team Fortress" games are made by the same dev-team. There were some copies, namely Weapons Factory Arena (Quake 2), Q3F (Quake 3), and Fortress Forever (HL2).

The problem people are having with H.A.V.E. is that the phong-shaded lighting style (not cell shading, mind you) which debuted in this game, along with the 1960s evil genius style was copied, almost exactly.

Can merge this comment into the one above if you have to. In all seriousness, Team Fortress had its roots in Quake 1, which is centuries ago. In the original Quake World TF, all the base classes (Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Spy etc. etc.) were already out, and I wouldn't say that the Koreans have "stolen" the idea of TF, since some people "stole" the ideas of the the original QuakeWorld TF and made it into Team Fortress Classic. I'm not familiar with the original QuakeWorld TF as I have never played it, but it is very different from TFC or TF2. A QuakeWorld TF old timer as complaining how spy was unbalanced in TF2 since the spy couldn't cloak in the original QuakeWorld TF.

I think most people think that Team Fortress Classic was the first Team Fortress, but nope it really doesn't start there. We should also be very grateful for people that make mods, as they are the ones that are truly responsible for many popular game franchises out there such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress (2 very prominent examples). Companies like Valve capitalise on the original ideas of these people, and that's where we get popular and very replayable games.

The gameplay looks horrible. 3rd person? No. After watching this I think I'll play more TF2 now. Although I need more people to play it with, the friends I actually want to play with have crappy comps so it doesn't meet the requirements. Fail.
