Likely the best art for GUMI on her birthday, despite it being a cover for a CD.
When GUMI was first announced, almost everyone thinks of her as a joke due to her character design.
When GUMI was first released, she surprised everyone with one of the most realistic voice at that time.
And today, we celebrate GUMI’s first birthday!
NotCliche proudly presents,
The Last Post for June 26th, Year 2010!
The Birth of GUMI. The First Vocaloid that Sounds almost Human.
IT IS HIGH RECOMMENDED THAT YOU WATCH AND LISTEN THE VIDEO BELOW!

The best video to have existed on GUMI’s birthday! Though originally sung by Ayumi Hamasaki, this version was sung by GUMI with music remix by YuuKiss. (And Kaito, somewhere at the back, he can shut up, however.) YuuKiss must be God or something, since that is the best GUMI I have ever heard!
This video have a really deep meaning for the Vocaloids. When MEIKO was first released, her voice sounded too robotic and dead to blend in with the music, but it was possible to make her sing beautifully for technology at that time.
She was the prototype for Vocaloid today.
When Miku was first released, her voice was a vast improvement from MEIKO. Her voicebank can be edited more easily, and allows higher pitch. It is even more possible than before to make her sing, though some might feel that something is missing. She let the whole world knew of Vocaloid and showcase her potential to create the fanbase as it is today.
She was the first symbol for Vocaloid today.
When GUMI was first released, her voice was the best at that time, surpassing Luka. She was the easiest Vocaloid to sound more like a human, and perhaps the Vocaloid that made most of us realize how Vocaloid can be improved. Four months after her release, Crypton announce their plans for the [Append] Series. Some said that it was due to the UTAULOIDS that Crypton made this move. But I’d say that the developers for Crypton realize the potential of GUMI’s software, and decide to merge that technology with Miku, the symbol everyone came to realize Vocaloid as they are today.
With that said, it is time for some other videos!

Talking about realistic sounding voice, this would be the second best for today!
Lyrics by…Uh…Shika something? Meh, God knows the moon speak of 鹿乃! >_>; And the PV is done by kisuke =3
Next up, we have…!

[Kimi no Te/キミの手] by AisuimoP/アイス芋P.
I do love peaceful music like this, though it could be better if there was some flute in it >_>

Lastly, we have [kitanatsukaze/キタナツカゼ] by [Takku ni kai doo/タック二階堂] (In charge of lyrics), Haruko/晴子 (In charge of music) and [Mie no hito/三重の人] (In charge of PV).
This would be the only song today that seems to have the best lyrics and a really decent voice and music to go along with them lyrics XD I don’t speak moon, but I do know how to read kanji, so I only have a few rough ideas about the lyrics. Get someone who knew moon to explain it to you D;<
And with that, the day is coming to an end. Perhaps the next time I write another (somewhat) important post, Vocaloids taking over the world is no longer a dream, yes? =3
(On a side note, GUMI is comparable to the Append Series.)
