These are times where I’m glad I ain’t there.
One thing I’ve learned this time round. Don’t ever unplug your instruments from an amplifier while the volume is turned up. Don’t ever.
K-ON! Episode 2 just as awesome as episode 1, although I wouldn’t say that the second episode has the same amount of laughs as episode 1. I mean, c’mon, episode 1 is the introductory episode! First impression matters!
Episode 2 deals with Yui getting a guitar. Since Yui is going to be a guitarist in the club, she definitely needs a guitar of her own. After asking for an advance of 50,000 yen (and Yui said that is 10 months worth of pocket money!) just to buy the guitar.
Man, where can I get such work that you can sit, watch (and count) cars passing by?!
However, after shopping around for a guitar, Yui finds a guitar that she likes, but it comes with an enormous pricetag of 250,000 yen. The club decides to help out by doing part-time job, which is probably some of the best job in the world. Comes with a nice pay too, 8,000 yen per day. Arghhh!
After working for 2 days, they pooled their salary and the advance pocket money, but still lack the funds to get Yui’s guitar. But, after doing some consideration, Yui decides to get a guitar that she can afford (which is a good thing. damn, I love Yui for being so sensible!).
Oh, it’s in the genes.
And surprise, surprise! It turns out that the shop which contained the guitar that Yui wanted was owned by Tsumugi’s father! Upon learning that, the shop assistant quickly gave a discount, but Tsumugi happily asked for more discount, seeing that it’s her first time doing a bargain.
And of course, after that little bargaining, which got Yui the guitar for 50,000 yen, the journey of the Light Music Club is finally about to begin!
While this episode isn’t the kind of episode that will make you laugh out loud, but rather, they will put a smile on your face. Several moments are just too cute!
I’ve always liked cheerful people.
I’ve read several other blogs, and they’ve expressed their hate for Tsumugi… but I feel it’s rather unfair! Nope, that doesn’t mean that I’m biased towards her, I still stand at Yui’s side. It’s just right for someone who has experienced the first time of anything to be happy!
That reminds me of another thing, since 50,000 yen is 10 months worth of pocket money for Yui, that means she has 5k yen per month. How do someone survive on 5,000 yen per month as pocket money?! That’s barely enough for buying anime goo- oops, nevermind me.
And I’m unhappy at the kind of work the girls are doing! What kind of work pays that well and is so relaxing?! That is gotta the best job on earth! Tell me where I can sign up! BEST JOB EVER!!
There was a rumour that the ED of K-ON! changes with every epsiodes too, but, as much as I want that, I doubt anyone would be that hardworking to think of an sequence to fit into the ED everytime. Guess that rumour was false.
In all, K-ON! is shaping up quite nicely. It has the similar appeal that drew me into Lucky Star. I first thought the show (Lucky Star) was rather ridiculous, mainly because of the OP, but the characters just draws me into watching it.
Seems that Yui is getting into the mood!
Oh, I guess I misjudged you.
Yui’s love for daydreaming came a long, long way.
Seems like the second episode does a mini-introduction too. Introducing the Tsun- I mean, Mio!
Introducing Ritsu, with her *cough*Yamaha*cough* Drums!
Introducing Tsumugi with her FLUFFY eyebrows!
I would think which instrument I am then!
Well, certainly. It’s not everyday you’ll find a Tsun—
The way Yui asks is too cute! Resemblance to Tsukasa is too much!
Petting a dog in the middle of the road is NOT safe.
I would get the same impression when I see a dual guitar too…
Princess, indeed!
I guess even simple jobs have side effects.
Yui is indeed sensible.
I guess being excited is a good thing.
Getting her favourite guitar is probably the best present Yui can ever get.
Hoho. Poor Yui.
And happy Yui! Yui is so easily pleased!
Right after Clannad, comes K-ON… damn you KyoAni! I absolutely love you for bringing us some of the greatest series out there!
*runs before getting ranted by KyoAni haters*
