Looks like Lucky Star and Kannagi has some serious competition!

And once again, K-ON! tops Oricon’s weekly charts! Not exactly the most surprising of news, but K-ON had snatched the top place of the weekly charts for several times now and that’s definitely a feat!

For the first week, the seventh and final volume of the Blu-Ray of K-ON! has racked up about 31,000 copies sold and claiming the top place for the week of January 18-24 for themselves. The last K-ON Blu-Ray to exceed 30,000 copies of sales is the first K-ON! Blu-Ray.

While the figures are certainly impressive, one can’t help but to attribute the success of the final disc to the special episode 14 content on the disc itself. Episode 14 is an unaired episode that is only released on both the Blu-Ray and DVD medias, so I guess it’s probably one of the reasons why the final Blu-Ray had achieved such sales volume…
