K-ON!’s anime may have ended thus far, but the manga is still going strong, and just recently, the mangaka had announced that a special chapter for K-ON! will be shipping with the August issue of  Manga Time Kirara Forward.

If you’ve been following the manga, you should know that K-ON! is 4-koma (or 4-panel) manga, which is kind of presentation of a mini-story in series of 4 panels. However, for this particular special chapter, it is said that it’ll be a one-shot manga which will feature a continuous story with varying panel layouts.

The story of the special chapter revolves around Mio and Ritsu when they were in elementary school. There isn’t much other information released for the manga thus far, but I’m sure a lot of people would be extremely glad to see this special chapter coming up, especially when it’s not in 4-koma format!
