Konata and her family members will be officially recognized as residents of the very city that the series had took place: Satte.
Recently announced by the the city of Satte, it is reported that the Izumi family will be officially registered as residents of Satte. The creator Lucky Star — Kagami Yoshimizu — is currently in the process of drawing up a special certificate of residency for the Izumi family. The registration will officially take place on the 3th January.
Once the certificate is done, the city will be making copies of the certificate and will be selling these copies to fans of Lucky Star as a collectible item of some sort. The certification will include all of Konata’s family members, such as her father, mother and even her cousin, Yukata.
Here’s a little fun fact: the home that Kagami Yoshimizu had worked in was actually converted into the home of the Izumi family after he had moved out of the place. The house, which is converted to match exactly how the Izumi’s family house looks like, is now visited regularly by fans of Lucky Star. The address of the house will also be used as the address on the residency certificate.
Looks like Lucky Star is still quite popular even after all these times! And seriously, who would have ever thought that they could actually make money off residency certifications anyway?
