Amidst all the petitions and boycotts of the internet about the sudden revelation and release of L4D2, it’s actually quite a shocker that the amount of pre-orders that L4D2 is racking in is more than the amount of pre-orders that L4D had received.
According to a Valve representative, the amount of pre-orders that they are getting thus far is actually doubled as compared to the amount of pre-orders they had gotten for the first Left 4 Dead.
As many would have remembered, there had been high hopes for Left 4 Dead, but the content were just too limited. Even with the new Survival Update, there isn’t much content added, and the game gets boring really fast. Fans had contributed ideas, but with the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2, fans fears that Valve might just completely leave Left 4 Dead in favour to Left 4 Dead 2.
However, the Valve representative had said that they are still indeed working on Left 4 Dead 1. While Left 4 Dead 2 has been announced, there’s lots of work to be done with the game and Left 4 Dead 1 will still be receiving all the updates it deserves, as “lots of stuff being worked on for Left 4 Dead” and the representative had said that the mod tools that is gonna get released will work with both games.
Left 4 Dead 2 will arrive at the PC and 360’s shores on 17th November.

Actually, I’ve got an idea about linking both games together. Maybe there’s a mode where both game’s players would have separate routes through a map, although they will meet up at certain point to defeat a boss or something like that? Sounds feasible? Then again, I think that’s too far fetched.
