Popular “Liar Game”, a psychological thriller, is getting a second drama adaptation, based on the manga itself.
Plot (excerpt from Wikipedia) :
Nao Kanzaki, an honest college student, receives 100 million yen (about $1,000,000) one day, along with a card saying that she has been chosen to participate in the “Liar Game Tournament”. In order to win the game, she is to steal the 100 million yen issued to her sole opponent, and to keep hers safe. Upon finding out to her opponent is her former teacher Kazuo Fujisawa, she misplaces her trust in him and is easily deceived. Knowing that losing the game will put her in debt, a lawyer tells her of Shinichi Akiyama, a genius swindler.
Not much details of the 2nd drama adaptation has been released, although it is confirmed that the actors that was in the first season will reprise their roles in the second season. The first season was considered successful, as it garnered the second highest viewer satisfaction rating.
The first season had 11 episodes, with the finale being 3 hours long.
Liar Game will also be getting another adaptation, in a form of a live action movie. The actors for the drama season will also, once again, reprise their role in the live action movie. Liar Game has been hugely successful in Japan, with over 3 million copies sold as manga, and had received good ratings from viewers on the drama series.
The exact details of the drama adaptation and movie aren’t announced as of yet, but we can probably see more in the future.
