Lonely Man Steals Garden Ornament To Alleviate Loneliness

A little like this…

A 52-years old man was arrested on Friday on the suspicion of stealing several ceramic ornaments from a home in Toyohashi City.

The man, Osamu Kimura is accused of attempting to steal a ceramic “tanuki” raccoon dog from the home at around 11 p.m on Wednesday night. The owner informed the police after seeing Kimura holding a ceramic garden frog on that day, and also happened to notice a tanuki (which is 70cm in height, costs about 10,000 yen) was in Kimura’s bicycle basket.

Police search Kimura’s house later on Thursday and found 15 tanuki raccoon dogs in addition to the ceramic dogs and frogs, which totals up to about 30 of them. However, this man didn’t steal these ceramic ornaments for selling or anything of this sort.

It seems like Kimura had stolen these ornaments because he felt lonely after the passing of his last family members. Kimura had admitted to the police that he stole these ornaments for about a year now, and had occasionally talked to them to alleviate his loneliness.

While I do understand his loneliness due to the passing of his family members, stealing to alleviate loneliess is definitely not something that someone should do. There’s tons of other things that you could do to alleviate loneliness, like, you know, buying figurines and stuffs like that. But really, does he need to go to the extent of talking to ornaments to alleviate his loneliness?

I can only imagine how it is like.
