Lucky L4D2 Boycotters Gets Special Treatment

Valve is a great company that creates great games. It’s a known fact throughout the gaming community since they are the guys that had brought us the legendary Half-Life, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike as well as all it’s sequels and stuffs like that.

However, when Left 4 Dead 2 was first announced, there’s a bunch of people who had rose up and said that they would boycott L4D2 simply because they think that it’s a rushed job and will suck. They reasoned that with L4D1 barely one year old, releasing a sequel for the game is simply too fast and many people felt cheated because they will need to purchase yet another game to play the popular cooperative zombie shooter.

Valve had noticed this, and had singled out 2 guys from the Steam Community Group that had actively boycotted L4D2 and specially flew them into Valve HQ to let them have a little taste of the game itself. The results? Exactly what Valve had intended.

The two administrators of the group Walking_Target and Agent of Chaos, had said this when they finally got their hands on L4D2:

“Things seemed balanced and ‘tight’ and did not feel like a rushed job and we can say with confidence…that the quality of gameplay in Left 4 Dead 2 is not in question; and it will only get better”.

The group, however, had disagreed with their admins action of declaring that L4D2 is going to be awesome and openly flamed them, as well as going to the extent of calling them as puppets of Valve. If you’re interested, you can actually take a look at the drama in this link here.

But really, Valve is such a thoughtful company to think of this. Maybe we should just form a boycott group for every single game out there and hope to get such special treatment!

*coughs*
