Strange thing, I know, but it looks like Shiraishi Minoru is about to launch a particular spin-off from Lucky Star, called Lucky Racer early this April. However, despite it being a spin-off, it’s not exactly Lucky Star related, unless you count the voice cast as part of Lucky Star.
Lucky Racer will be a live-action short that will take place in between the BS11 Satellite Broadcasting of Seitokai no Ichizon on every Friday. The Kadokawa Anime Channel will also be showing the Lucky Racer shorts during it’s own timeslot.
There’s really nothing much to be said about Lucky Racer, except the voice cast of Lucky Star will be taking part in a friendly competition of Kart Racing to determine who will win for the week. While the details of how many episodes and how long each episode will last is rather hazy as of now, what is confirmed that the whole purpose of Lucky Racer is to allow winners of the racing to debut products, or simply just to publicize themselves. Not a bad idea, but well… I don’t know, but the whole idea just doesn’t sit well with me.
