Ah, Macross Frontier. Yet another movie being announced when the 1st movie is yet to be released. Amazing isn’t it?

The first movie is titled “Macross Frontier ~Itsuwari no Utahime~” and is translated into “Macross Frontier the Movie: The False Songstress”. The second movie, however, has only been confirmed that it’ll be making an appearance and have yet to receive a title.

However, it would seem like that first movie isn’t anything great. It is said that the first movie will feature several new footage editted together with the anime, and ta-dah, it’s called a movie. What you’re looking at is basically a re-editted version of the anime, all slapped into one movie. Doesn’t sound too exciting to me.

The second movie will be a completely new one though. You know, original footages and musics and stuffs like that. That means there will be a completely new story to tell, and of course, new music to accompany it. After all, Macross Frontier is rather popular for the music that accompanies it.

Regardless of how both the movies will turn it, it would seems that the second movie is a much better deal, although I really doubt the first movie’s apparent recycling of the TV series will stop loyal fans from watching it. I mean, it’s mecha and music, two of the best things in the world!
