Once upon an awesome time, I’ve chanced upon an equally awesome manga, titled 090 – Eko to Issho. One look at it, and I know I’ll definitely love this manga.

Perhaps, one of the most awesome ones I’ve ever seen.
What is this 090 – Eko to Issho about? What’s so interesting about this? Why does it has a 090 in it’s title?
Long story short, what you’ll find in this particular manga is humour, and definitely even more humour.
090 – Eko to Issho is a manga about the life of a particular boy, named Hiroshi. One rainy night, he found a broken cellphone along the streets, and sends it for repair. When the phone got delievered to his home, he found a lifesized girl instead of the phone that he had picked up on the streets! Unable to return the “cellphone” back to the store, Hiroshi is stuck with this cellphone-girl, whom he calls Eko.
What else can I say? There’s humour, there’s something people can easily relate to these days – cellphones – and most importantly, cute girls! (Man, I’m such a sucker when it comes to these…)

Aww, seriously, how can you not love this?
Basically, much like the summary of the manga, 14 years old Hiroshi chanced upon something very unique. Something that no one has. Imagine a cellphone that could talk to you, interact with you, play with you. How much fun will that be?
090 is actually the starting of Eko’s number. We all know that every single cellphone has a number that is unique to itself, and Eko is of no exception!
Within this particular manga, you’ll find a variety of things happening between Eko and Hiroshi. Like how does Hiroshi feel about his new “cellphone”? How does Eko, being a cellphone, actually call someone?
While the manga deals with everyday’s life, readers definitely won’t find a boring moment within each chapter. Each chapter is loaded with funny and hilarious ethnics, by both Hiorshi and Eko, as well as their surrounding friends.
Even though Eko is technically a girl, as well as a cellphone, she performs her tasks like a cellphone should, and is vulnerable to whatever electronics are vulnerable to. One example is that Eko would fall “sick” when she comes in contact with water. I’m sure you guys wouldn’t want your cellphones to hit the water, right?
Another example is that how Eko deals with sending of a mail. Now, I’m sure everyone knows what’s a cellphone mail, or more commonly known as Short Messages in Singapore. Indeed, Eko is able to send short messages out to others, but it’s through a rather interesting way!
Of course, they are not immune from the effects of spam mail too. You’ll need to read to the manga to find out!

The future of sending e-mails!
In the past, I usually had trouble reading manga, because of the fact that there was so much thing to be noticed in the manga itself. The environment, the art, and the “sound effect” texts. These things are some of the reason why anime were a bit easier on the eyes than mangas. (or maybe because i’m lazy… but that’s another case!)
However, how can anyone resist the simplicity and cuteness of the manga is enough to pull anyone to anyone to read it. Each panel is neatly drawn and everything looks awesomely clean. No messy text here or there, no excessive drawing of the environment. Just plain, clean and straight to the point drawing.
The cast that makes up the story is interesting too. There’s the student council president of the school – which is a female, despite the fact that she wears male’s uniform – a girl otaku, which is deeply obsessed with anything mechanic. Hiroshi’s best friend and cousin as the male part… and many more! Each and everyone contributes to the overall comedy of the manga. Did I mention that Eko is extremely cute too?

Definitely!
However, my only complains for this manga is that each chapter is way too short! Each chapter probably consist of only a few pages, nothing more than 15 if I remembered correctly. Why, why must it be this way?! Why must good mangas be so short?! *despairs*
The good news is that, Eko to Issho is not yet completed, and that means that we will definitely see more of the manga outside there, somewhere.
However may I say, readers must personally read this manga to fully enjoy the magic and laughter it brings. Not much manga in the non-action series is able to do that, in my opinion.
Currently, there’s only 42 translated chapters in whole, and progress seems to be slow. However, fear not, for I shall keep myself updated on this manga everyday!
Anyway, for some linkage, so that you readers can enjoy it!
And with that, this is Netto, signing off!
*prays that Eko to Issho gets adapted into an anime*

[...] Cromartie High School is a rather popular manga in the past. It has received quite the attention, with an anime adaptation, as well as a live movie adaptation. 090 – Eko to Issho, on the other hand, is generally a less known manga, although the manga boasts extremely simple, yet expressive art style. I’ve written a review on the manga, which you’ll be able to find by clicking here. [...]
