In yet another episode of the seemingly endless console wars, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg had said that he is confident that the Xbox 360 will not only beat the PS3 in terms of sales this year, but also beat the PS3 totally in terms of the console generation.
A pretty bold thing to say, if you ask me.
According to Greenberg, he compares the current console war to a game of baseball. Basically, while the PS3 is scoring extremely well now, it doesn’t necessary mean that it will win the console war as there are many more years to go.
Indeed. The PS3 has recently came back to “life” with the release of the PS3 Slim, and has been doing extremely well for the past 2 months. The Xbox 360, on the other hand, has seen a considerable drop of the amount of console sold, and it is definitely not looking too well for Microsoft. Even the price-drop is not helping, as many consumers found the PS3 a much better deal than the Xbox 360.
Of course, the sales of the consoles doesn’t mean everything too. Other important factors such as how Microsoft does their work and stuffs are not exactly considered by a majority of the people out there. Then again, who really cares about all of these anyway? If you’re interested, you can always hit up this link and have a longer read on how Greenberg explains the “whole war status” is like.
However, it should be noted that PS3 Slim is really gaining on the Xbox 360. While it’s true that the Xbox 360 has the advantage in numbers of units sold thus far, it doesn’t necessary mean that consumers would be interested in the near future as the PS3 exclusive games just gets better and better.
