Netflix Hitting Nintendo Wii’s Shores Soon

Looks like Wii-tan is happy that Netflix is coming!

Nintendo Wii users, rejoice! Netflix, some of the most popular streaming service on the consoles of these days will be finally making it’s way into the Nintendo Wii itself!

Netflix has found it’s way into the Xbox 360 Live component sometime ago, and has been a popular choice for many to completely replace their common TV programs. Later, the PS3 together with the PSN had also adopted Netflix, allowing PS3 users to finally watch all sorts of shows on their consoles. Now, Netflix is making it’s way to the Nintendo Wii, and that is definitely good news for any Nintendo Wii users out there, as Netflix will soon be replacing your usual TV channels, once and for all!

Like the PS3 version, a special streaming disc will be required in order to stream anything from Netflix at all. The service is scheduled to be live on the Nintendo Wii this Spring. Another thing to note about the Nintendo Wii version is that, Due to the fact that the Nintendo Wii is unable to output the videos at HD (no HD cables for the Wii, yet!), Netflix users on the Wii will be restricted to only Standard Definition videos. However, one could enjoy Netflix with a lower power rating than Xbox 360 or PS3, so some can consider this as a plus of some sorts.

However, with rumours of Nintendo Wii HD coming out sometime this year or next year, we might just see Wii consumers streaming HD videos pretty soon!
