One Piece Volume 0 To Get Animated!

This would make an excellent One Piece spinoff…

For those who aren’t able to view the One Piece’s 1oth Movie personally, rest assured that the supposedly “manga-exclusive” volume 0 which will be distributed during the movie’s screening will not be strictly manga only after all.

However, despite the good news that Volume 0 will indeed be animated, it seems that it’ll receive the same treatment as the manga version. Volume 0, like the name has suggested, deals with the adventures that had happened before the actual One Piece story.

For those who are interested, Volume 0 is set 20 years before the events of One Piece, and is seemingly focused on the  pirate king, Gol. D Roger versus the legendary pirate “Gold Lion” Shiki.

Volume 0 is actually a limited edition manga will only few will be lucky enough to get their hands on. Only 1.5 million copies are printed, and these copies will be given out during the screening of the movie itself. However, the Volume 0 anime will be even more limited in stocks, seeing that only 3,000 DVDs will be made and this will be distributed in collaboration with the House Foods brand.

It isn’t too bad, since the episode will definitely be circulated around the web. I, for one, is extremely interested in this prelude of One Piece…

And oh, if you found the opening picture interesting, here’s a couple more for you!
