Whole line up of items.
Sony have recently showcased their PSP-Go — or PSP2 as many would have labeled it as — accessories. Of course, you can expect the standard fare of A\V wires, screen protectors, USB cables and some of the others, there’s actually a catch in getting PSP-Go.
While PSP-Go can stand for “mobility” in a sense, since it’s rather small, people have joked about it’s new name as “PSP Go buy new accessories”. I’m sure what this means for you guys. Yes, those who are intending to get the new PSP-Go will be left disappointed, as all the accessories that were previously compatible with the PSP-1000, 2000 or 3000 will not be compatible with the new PSP-Go.
Why? Because Sony decides to abolish the Mini-USB ports, and opts for another multifunction port, which is used for stuffs like data transfer as well as powering/charging the whole unit. While replacing one single USB cable is not that bad, the very fact that if you happen to think about getting the PSP-Go and wants some accessories such as A\V cables to go along with it, you’ll need to get whole new cables just because the PSP-Go doesn’t support the old cables.
On other news though, everyone should know that the PSP-Go will feature no UMD drives. This would mean that those people whom have previously bought UMDs will not be able to use them in the PSP-Go, and of course this raised a lot of concerns about what will happen to the games that they have bought. Sony is actually in the process of sorting out all of these, and may introduce a trade-in program for all the games that you’ve bought. This, however, have not been revealed much by Sony at all.
While PSP-Go is a definite improvement over the original PSP, it seems that it has bought a lot more problems than actually solving it…
