Folks at the Eurogamer’s Spanish department seems to be having a specification list for the new PSP, which is probably still in it’s planning stages. That means it’s the PSP2, not the upcoming PSP Go.
From what they say, it seems that this particular PSP2 is planned to pack a punch that is comparable to the original Xbox’s worth of juice in it. Built upon Imagination Technology’s PowerVR SGX543MP processor, the only thing that you need to know from this particular chip is that it’ll support OpenGL 2.0 and it is also a quad core.
Other than having OpenGL 2.0 (latest is 3.1), it is also rumoured that PSP2 will be able to support DirectX 10, although I think that’s highly impossible. To think that DirectX 10 is only supported by some of the hardware in 2006 and Xbox specifications aren’t exactly 2006 to be honest.
Sony, however, had said that they would not comment on rumours or speculations.

Of course, all these are rumours and speculations. Specifications could be bumped up as high as your imagination can go, but there’s always a chance that a particular rumour could be right. If the specifications here are actually the planned specifications, people might just finally get a portable Xbox on their hands!
