Ah, of course. What’s the student council without her?
If anything, Seitokai no Ichizon’s second episode does absolutely, like how Kurimu (the president) would have said it, tastes like happiness. Another 24 minutes of my life which is more or less productively spent, in my opinion, as this episode brings out more laughs than what Kampfer (even though Kampfer is actually quite good in it’s own right) could provide.
The second episode focuses on the Student Council’s… well, studying session. It should be noted, however, that everyone except Kurimu has excellent grades, since the student council seats are more or less decided by a popularity vote (of course, you knew that…).
Don’t you feel a lot more motivated now?
In fact, the episodes aren’t so bad as what some others would have said it is. I mean, if you’re not into the parodies and stuffs, there’s always the enlightening quotes that Kurimu always mentions just before she ends up getting interrupted by someone else mentioning his harem!
Some of the characters are actually quite different from what I first thought though…
For example… Chizuru, to my surprise, is actually quite a scary person. I mean, well, she does look gentle and all, but deep down it seems that she’s more of the… “I’ll slowly torture you muahahaha!” kind of person. I don’t know, but she does give me that feelings from time to time.
I choked here.
The parodies hasn’t gotten old on me yet as of the second episode. It’s certain, however, that Seitokai is bringing out more original comedy than the first episode, which was more or less full of parodies of other popular series out there. Mistakenly quoting someone (e.g Edison) with your own video game quote or even that eroge scene of Kurimu, is at the very least, original, yes?!
On the contrary to what people have said about the setting of Seitokai no Ichizon (like how boring it’ll get if everything happens in one room), I actually find the series limiting itself to just the Student Council room sufficient. While people might get bored of the same place over time, I think that the place where the “action” takes place does not exactly matter. I mean, who cares about the place where the characters are when you’re busying yourself with laughter in the first place?
Where else can you find such a Student Council president?
Plus, it’s always good to have a change of the kind of student council presidents we’re looking at. Be it Toradora’s harsh president, or even Kampfer’s mysterious president, I’m absolutely sure that I’ll take Kurimu over both of them anyday.
And oh, did I mention that there’s a certain mysterious being somewhere at the end of the episode? Things might get sinister real soon. Zing!
