Kodansan’s Weekly Shonen Magazine has recently announced that a TV anime adaptation of Tozen Ujiie’s Seitokai Yakuindomo is currently now in production. Seitokai Yakuindomo is a slice of life comedy 4-koma manga that revolves around a certain used-to-be girl’s only high school.
Called Osai Academy, the school was formerly a girls-only High School and had recently started to accept males into their ranks. As the academy’s intake of males are quite recent, the student body is split between 524 girls and 28 boys. Takatoshi Tsuda, a boy who was unfortunate enough to be pushed for vice-president for student council, finds himself being the lone male in the otherwise female dominated student council.
From what I’ve heard, it looks like Seitokai Yakuindomo will be a rather fun fusion between Seitokai no Ichizon and B Gata K Hei. Not very sure about the fusion, but so far, the manga has been pretty enjoyable! Lots of funny jokes regarding both genders, as well the whole student council committee. It’s quite a pity that the project isn’t actively translated, as there’s only a total 3 translated chapters since August last year. You can find the translated chapters located at this link. If you happen to find more translated chapters, please do share!
Can’t wait to see this series in animated form soon! We can probably expect more information regarding the cast and animating studio at a later date, and this series might just be out by Fall 2010!
