Even Miku needs rest to continue singing~!
According to the Yomiuri Shimbun, a japanese newspaper, 33% of students in high school and middle school feel drowsy and or tired in the daytime nationwide.
This survey was done by a study group in Japan. But it does bring about the interesting question of “Why are they so tired?”
Want to know why? Read more inside!
The survey was based on 87000 students nationwide with 168 schools participating in it. As sleepiness hinders learning during lessons, some study group decided to do a survey on students’ sleep and daily habits so as to find out why.
It is also not surprising how high school students are definitely more tired compared to middle school students. But what is surprising was that girls are actually more likely to be tired compared to guys, with 45% of girls in high school compared to the 36% of guys.
The leader of the group, Prof. Takashi Oda of Nihon University evaluated the survey using an international measurement, in which whatever the heck it is, I have no idea.
According to the study group, long commutes and going to bed late is the main cause of daytime sleepiness in students. It was also concluded that the change of environment experienced by first year high school students also causes lack of sleep. But that shouldn’t be surprising, as high schools are a lot harder compared to middle school, especially competitive Asian countries like Japan.
But what are the reasons for not getting enough sleep at night? Who knows? I mean…This is Japan, right? They must definitely be playing MMO or doing something very productive~ and I wonder what the young ladies in Japan are doing now when I am writing this article. Who knows?
