Sanae-san’s bread can be extremely awesome at times. Leaving the taste factor aside, the looks of the bread that she design looks pretty awesome to say the least.

So, in order to celebrate the upcoming Father’s Day and Tanabata Star Festival, Kripsy Kreme Doughnuts Japan have commissioned Sanae-san to design and make limited edition bread named “Daddy’s Coffee Chocolate” and “Chocolate Sprinkle Star” throughout all the Kripsy Kreme outlets in Japan.

Leaving the fact that Sanae-san had participated in the making and design of the bread, it would seem that Kripsy Kreme had asked their own part-time staff to propose idea on new doughnuts. Getting about 100+ worth of ideas, Kripsy Kreme then selected 8, and allowed all the customers who visits them to vote which doughnut that they would want to see.

The results is the so-called limited edition “Daddy’s Coffee Chocolate” and “Chocolate Sprinkle Star”. The Daddy’s Coffee Chocolate is actually doughnut that is coated with bittersweet coffee chocolate, then decorated with chocolate made from condensed milk and dark chocolate, and topped with chocolate shaped like coffee beans.

Fancy one of these?

“Chocolate Sprinkle Star” on the other hand simpler, and it is inspired by the stars in the nightsky, although the fact that people can still see stars in the skies in the cities is a complete mysterious. Looking something like what Fuuko would usually hold, this particular doughnut is star-shaped and coated with dark chocolate icing and topped with colorful sprinkles. It will even be sold on a limited period from 3 June to 7 July. A month worth of limited offer.

Kripsy Kreme is also re-opening on of their oldest outlets, which boasts one of the most attractive features in any bakery: the process theater. With bigger wi-fi and even allowing customers to view and decorate their own doughnuts, Kripsy Kreme is set to dominate the bread stage!

Of course, while these products looks tasty, it’s ugh-oh-so-bad with that amount of sugar intake. But I guess indulging yourself in one of these once in a blue moon is acceptable…

Well, unless Sanae-san decides to launch her own campaign too, but in the meantime, I guess she is pretty happy with her shop house. On the other hand, I’m sure Fuuko will be extremely delighted with the “Chocolate Sprinkle Star”.
