Hell, it’s about time. Seriously.
Remember the time where there was this huge hype about Starcraft 2’s Beta and Blizzard has been tight lipped on that ever since? Yeah, Starcraft 2 is still apparently aiming for the beta, and it’s planned to last at least 4-6 months!
Good news? Of course it’s good news.
Bad news? Why of course, there’s bad news too!
Basically, when Blizzard says this and that about their release dates, everyone must take their words with a pinch of salt. Yeah, Starcraft 2 is in the works; there’s tons of balancing issues, tons of units being added in and out, all the stuff. However, when Blizzard announces about their beta, there’s no telling when the beta will actually reach our computer.
Let’s do a simple calculation. Assuming that Starcraft 2 is really gonna launch it’s first pack, Starcraft 2: Wings Of Liberty on the 31th December 2009. Now, we’re halfway through the year and if the beta is gonna last for 4 months, there will be barely anytime left for Blizzard to do anything.
However, it’s Blizzard we’re talking about here. Kind of the company that makes the impossible, possible. Maybe they will still deliver by that time. Looking at all those Starcraft 2 Battle Report makes me want to play this game badly, although one would wonder if the game is truly ready now, as seen from the Battle Reports. I mean, seriously, the previous few Battle Reports features the same units over and over again!
But regardless of what; Starcraft 2 Beta? Count me in!
