Starcraft Basic 101: Learn From Korean Professional

StarCraft

“Sir, I need a Korean Professional to get me out of this mess.

When we’re speaking Starcraft here, there’s a bunch of people that are probably some of the best players in the world. Yep, that’s right. South Koreans are probably some of the best Starcraft players in the world, and tons of them spend their time in LAN centres playing Starcraft and some other LAN games.

That’s why, in order to succeed in playing any Starcraft matches, you will need to learn from a South Korean. A professional coach that will teach you all the things you’ll need to get to the top. And of course, there’s no such thing as a free lunch in the world.

Starting charges at about $20/hr, ByunTae from South Korea will train you to be one of the most well-respected player in the Starcraft LAN universe. He’ll teach you tactics, unit management, resource management and all that stuff that average players can’t do (or don’t know how to do) in a match. It also seems that he has quite a reputable background as you can see from his introduction below:

I’m 100% full blooded Korean, meaning I have been gifted with unparallel talent to master any video game, particularly, Starcraft: Brood War. I’m also experienced in Counter-Strike, I am able to perform bunny hops, my best score on a public 32 player game was 171-2 with 170 kill streak. I’m offering my expertise in Starcraft to be taught to non-Koreans that wishes to have the skill of a Korean player. I have advised and coached many professional gamers such as Im Jae Dong, Park Myung Soo, Ma Jae Yoon, and more.

He offers services like race-specific trainings for Terran, Protoss and Zergs. However, the prices differs when you’re learning different races. Terran will set you back for $30/hr, while the Protos costs you $20/hr. Now, I wonder why’s that.

Either way, things that you will pick up from his lessons are like:

1. Faster APM (actions per minute) – average professional gamers range from 250-550. Average player is about 100.
2. Better Win/Loss Ratio
3. Chance to become a professional gamer in Korea – Celebrity status, especially for foreigners, like Guillaume Patry (Grrr…) and Bertrand Grospellier (Elky)
4. Bragging rights, that you’re as good as a Korean in Starcraft
5. You will be called a hacker because you’re so good.
6. Korean girls will be intrigued that you’re such a good Starcraft player.

I’m pretty sure that 1-5 point applies to almost every games, but I’m actually quite unclear about point number 6. Can anyone clarify with me on that?

But still, you must do note that in the world of Starcraft, there’s actually 4 kinds of players. Usually, there’s only 3 kinds:

  1. Newbie
  2. Decent
  3. Professional

However, when you start playing Starcraft, you’ll realise that the 4 kinds of players are:

  1. Newbie
  2. Decent
  3. Professional
  4. Koreans

Thus, if you must get to the top, you must learn from a South Korean! They are gifted with unparalleled talent to master any kind of games, especially Starcraft: Brood War.

Check out his services in this link.

I will do you a favour and let you know that, yes, popular starcraft gamers have fangirls, eager to have your babies. Unfortunately most of them are geeks but surely some of them got to be hot right?

If I remember correctly, last time I checked a famous player named NaDa had 160,000 members in his fan club.
