Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu & Heiretsu Vocal Mini Album — What’s in this?

coverart

Cover Art for the Mini Album.

Released on the 25th March (my birthday at it too!), this particular album contains 8 tracks, 4 vocal songs and 4 off-vocal songs. While it has certainly been sometime since we’ve saw the last season of Suzumiya Haruhi, it seems that the series’s power doesn’t die out after for sometime. Haruhi-sama is great!

The whole album has 4 tracks has vocals in it. There has been another mini album that has been released, making a total of 2 mini-albums that has been released thus far.

Here’s the list of the tracks:

1. Datte Chikyuu ga Mawaru kara
2. Wonder trip
3. Sono mama JET JUMPER
4. I’m Freedom
5. Datte Chikyuu ga Mawaru kara (off vocal)
6. Wonder trip (off vocal)
7. Sono mama JET JUMPER (off vocal)
8. I’m Freedom (off vocal)

Of course, there wouldn’t be anything to be said about the off-vocal songs, so we can just skip that.

First up is “Datte Chikyuu ga Mawaru kara“.  Giving off a very fast paced beat, with some catchy words, as well as a very catchy tune, this track is a little weird at the start, but starts to get a little better during the chorus. However, even if it’s good, it still turns me off as the back-singers tends to get annoying with their dragging of the lyrics.

Wonder Trip” is starts off with the same feeling as “Datte Chikyuu ga Mawaru kara“, fast, quick and straight. Everything starts to come down softer in awhile. This is much more enjoyable than the first song. I tend to stick softer song as opposed to very loud ones, such as the first one.

Sono mama JET JUMPER” starts off with Gotou Yuuko’s voice, very soothing indeed. I mean, c’mon, who doesn’t like Mikuru’s voice? “Sono mama JET JUMPER” is a decent song, to say the least.

I’m Freedom” stands out from the rest, simply because of the fact that all the other songs in the album starts off with a fast beat, but “I’m Freedom” simply starts it out with a soothing rhythm. The rhythm builds up nicely, with all the other instruments blending in well. This is probably my favourite out of the whole album.

Lasting for about 40mins (counting all the vocals and off-vocals), Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu & Heiretsu Vocal Mini Album is quite a nice album to listen. Regardless if you’re an alien, time traveller or an esper, you’ll thoroughly enjoy the album from start to end.
