Tales of Versus

Being a huge Tales of series fan, I could never pass on such an awesome game that is bound to arrive at Summer 2009.

Tales of Versus is exclusive to the PlayStation Portable, and is stated to arrive at Summer 2009 as a JP version. It’s basically a fighting game, instead of the usual RPG playing element, but will fashion it’s own unique storyline. However, which fighting game will extremely awesome storyline, like how the previous Tales games have brought out? I guess we will know when it’s out.

What can be expected is probably a fighting game of sort, with similar playabilities like what Dissdia: Final Fantasy has provided. Players can expect doing several skills that are exclusive to the character that they are playing, and it has been reportedly said that you could jump off walls and do some very stylish skills along with it.

What makes the Tales series awesome is that you can see the changes to your character’s weaponry, and it’s no different in this installment of the huge Tales universe. Players can fully customize their weapons as they like, and it’ll probably bring in different kind of gameplay.

Tales of Versus will feature 35 characters, from as much as 13 different games in the whole Tales universe. We can definitely be sure that there will be quite a number of combination available. All characters will be fully voiced too, but it’s unknown if the characters will be using their own original voice actors. However, I would not place too much hopes into getting the original VAs.

Tales of Versus will allow up to 4 characters in the field doing battle against each other. That means you can play with 3 more friends over Wi-Fi. Isn’t that great to own your friends?

Now, one more reason for me to get a PSP…
