Being a fan of the Namco’s long running Tales of series, Tales of Versus is one game that has been on my game radar for a long time. Being the latest escort title for the series, the Tales of Versus for the PSP platform will feature a wide variety of characters that spans across the whole Tales series.

It is stated that about 35 different characters will be making appearance in the game.

Some of the revealed characters includes:

• Luke, Tears from Tales of the Abyss,
• Stahn, Leon from Tales of Destiny,
• Kyle from Tales of Destiny 2,
• Yuri, Judith from Tales of Vesperia,
• Cless from Tales of Phantasia,
• Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia
  

There are several more, but I can’t make much out of the video itself.

While the Tales series is generally known for it’s RPG experience, Tales of Versus, like the name implies, will be taking a different kind of approach from the rest of the escort titles. Remember Final Fantasy Dissidia? Yep, Tales of Versus is somewhat like that. Tales of Versus will also feature an original storyline that would probably gather all the characters together.

Allowing about a maximum of 4 characters in any given battle, Tales of Versus allows the players to move freely in the battlefield and most of the time, spamming some random artes. It would also seems that character’s specific skill sets are returning in the game.

Although there isn’t too much information revealed yet, I’m sure you guys would want to check out the trailer.

However, regardless how the game will turn out, I’m sure it’ll turn out great. Now, here’s wishing that there will be an epic Indignation spell somewhere…

Tales of Versus is slated for the Playstation Portable on 6th August.
