Some of these things are just unique to TF2 itself.
If you’re a regular player of Team Fortress 2, you’ll probably notice that since it’s launch a few years back, Team Fortress 2 has been receiving quite an amount of updates, ranging from game fixes to class updates and even just simply classless updates of some sorts.
But do you know how many times did Team Fortress 2 had gotten updated?
In an interview with Gamasutra a week back, it was revealed by Steam’s Jason Holtman that Team Fortress 2 has been updated over 97 times in the whole 2 years since it’s launch date. If you translate that into a smaller number, it will roughly bring us to… 1 update per week!
Now, take a moment and let that sink in. 1 update per week doesn’t seem to be a lot if you’re a regular gamer, but look at it this way: did any game company release game updates on a weekly basis? I can’t think up of a game that had done that since the launch date of the game.
And this speaks volumes on how awesome Valve is when it comes to supporting their games. While TF2 is not getting regular updates in a month or two (due to L4D2), we can pretty much expect the next class pack to be around the corner pretty soon, and I have my money on a Soldier update!
